Sustainability
There is an ever-increasing need for the provision of energy that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the needs of the future. There are many technologies that promote ‘sustainable energy’ – notably, hydroelectricity, solar energy, wind energy, wave power and tidal energy. Alston Murphy is familiar with the sustainable forms predominantly used in new buildings.
Alston Murphy is also aware that many of these ‘add on’’ forms can also create onerous maintenance requirements, or a large carbon footprint. We are committed to the principle of increasing insulation levels and using “passive” forms of energy saving and re-use. This promotes the idea of minimising the energy required by main source systems, via gas, electricity and water.
